WATERLOO, ON – 09-28-2022 – Women of WISPA (WoW), a group dedicated to the advancement of women in the telecommunications industry, will hold their largest gathering yet at this year’s WISPAPALOOZA conference in Las Vegas.

The group is expecting more than 100 attendees at the Women of WISPA breakfast, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 a.m. in Bronze Room 3 at the Bally’s hotel.

Founded in 2021 by Alison Vreeswyk of Preseem, Susan Myers of Eastern Carolina Broadband, and Georgette Lopez-Aguado of Sonar Software, WoW will also be spearheading Pink Day at the conference in support of breast cancer awareness.

The group will be raising funds throughout the event for METAvivor, a nonprofit organization dedicated to Metastatic breast cancer research, support, and awareness.

“Our hope is that Women of WISPA will serve as a group that encourages and supports women involved in the ISP world,” said Vreeswyk. “We’re thrilled to see WoW growing so quickly and we’re honored to use our platform to raise funds for such a worthy cause.”

The group held a similar session at the WISPAMERICA event in New Orleans earlier this year. That event drew over 60 attendees who gathered to show their support for women working in the traditionally male-dominated WISP industry. WISPA said they’re excited to welcome even more registrants in Las Vegas.

“Women-owned WISPs and women in general play an important and growing role for WISPs and their dedicated service to their local communities,” said Jennifer Lisaius, Member Relations Specialist for WISPA. “WISPA is proud to host WoW, which we hope will boost female participation throughout our vibrant ecosystem and help contribute more to our tremendous industry and the customers we serve.”

About Women of WISPA and WISPAPALOOZA

WoW is open to all members of WISPA who seek the advancement of women in the telecommunications industry. The group’s shared goal is to network, engage, and mentor female members and entrepreneurs in their field. The WoW breakfast at WISPAPALOOZA will also be sponsored by Preseem, Sonar Software, and Calix.

WISPAPALOOZA is the largest event on the WISP calendar, with more than 2,000 attendees expected to gather in Las Vegas for four days of networking, seminars, and interactive sessions.
